NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology):
NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology): The National Institute of Fashion Technology or NIFT, as it is popularly known, was set up in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Over the time, it has emerged as the premier Institute of Design, Management and Technology, developing professionals for taking up leadership positions in fashion business of our country, as well as internationally. NIFT has been granted statutory status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006, empowering the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions.
For admission to its various programmes, undergraduate as well as post graduate, NIFT conducts an entrance examination. Admission is done on the basis of the performance of the candidates in a Written test and Situation test/GD/Interviews.
To impart & evolve fashion education, NIFT has opened 12 centres across the country, also an international centre at Mauritius, and have carved a special place for itself in the map of fashion education, India.

IIFT (Indian Institute of Fashion Technology): The Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Bengaluru, has been set up to impart professional training to students and potential employment seekers for the fashion and apparel industry as well as create a core group of people who are adequately trained to set up their own enterprises thus creating not only job seekers but also job providers. The institute offers courses in Fashion and Apparel Technology.
