No one doubts that a career in Banking and Finance is much sought after. Also jobs in this sector in India at various levels in the banking hierarchy are tough to get in. The Banking and Finance Companies adopt a thorough testing and screening process to select candidates for these jobs. The jobs vary from clerical positions upto officers and specialist management positions. For almost all these, the banks and the financial institutions adopt a two stage or a three stage testing and screening- A preliminary and a final test –generally in different aptitudes, GK, skills etc. and a Personal Interview- before final selection.
The Scheduled and the State Banks adopt a rigorous administration of machine-based Tests for lakhs of candidates across the country, periodically every year, through IBPS- a Central body to conduct these tests on behalf of the constituent Banks.
Also every year, SBI, RBI, RRBs, Insurance Companies and others too conduct similar tests for filling various positions in their ranks. ‘Coveted’ as it is to work in a Banking or Financial Institution, the competition is equally tough enough to get over in the form of the Tests administered. This surely calls for structured and dedicated preparation on the part of the job aspirants.
